Hosted by the Bethel Outing Club, the MollyOckett Day Classic road races are a long-standing tradition during Bethel's favorite summer festival!

  • 5-mile run over Paradise Hill
  • 1-mile sprint for adults
  • 1-mile for kids up to age 14

NOTE WELL: The Bethel Outing Club is making registration for local students free! It aligns with its mission of providing access for all to people-powered sports. The more young people it can get involved in its activities, the better it will be for the organization and the world!  So if you are a student in MSAD44, Andover, Maine, or a local Gould Academy student, use coupon code LOCALKID, and your entry is free.

Bethel Rotary May Day 5K

Bethel Rotary May Day 5k - May 13, 2017 

NOTE WELL: ENTRANTS UNDER AGE 18 YEARS OLD -- enter coupon code "UNDER18" to register at no charge!

This is the 2nd annual event of the Rotary Club of Bethel presented by the Bethel Family Health Center. Created to promote healthy pursuits and fun competition. Our intention is the keep the cost of registration low to reduce barriers to individuals to participate! All participants 18 and younger are free! These races (5K run & walk is open to all, from ages 2 – 85 and older! The a  1-mile run & walk is open and free to all 12 and under. Expected attendance 200-300 participants and accompanying family & friends. The Rotary Club of Bethel will commit the net funds to provide scholarships for area youth to after school enrichment programs, including music, art, physical fitness, and other creative pursuits.

1-mile race starts at 10 am. 5K race starts at 10:30 am

Early registration ends Friday May 12, 2017 at 5 pm.

The first 100 registrants will be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt.

Moose Festival and Moose Lottery

The Bethel Chamber of Commerce and the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center in Bryant Pond will host the Bethel Maine Moose Festival from June 12 to 14.

The festival will kick off Friday, June 12, with the final qualifying round for the moose-calling contest.

 

The second day of the festival begins at 9 a.m. June 13, with a brief speech by Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Commissioner Chandler Woodcock.

 

From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., vendors, exhibits and demonstrations will be set up on the Bethel common.

 

The moose-calling contest is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. June 13 at the town common.  The annual Maine Moose Permit Lottery will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in Bethel.
