Ragged Mountain Scuttle Heat update 9_21-18

What’s New in 2018- We listened to your suggestions so get ready for…. *** Be a team captain and get some cool captain swag *** New obstacles

The Ragged Mountain Scuttle, Sept 23rd – is a 5K adventure race on the Kuller trail at the Camden (Maine) Snow Bowl, where mountains meet the sea. Runners/Walkers will enjoy the ragged terrain and a beautiful view at the top.

Basic Course Info- The course offers a variety of natural and man-made obstacles over a 5K course with plenty of elevation gain. Whether you’re racing as a team or an individual, we promise this will be an event you’ll be happy you signed up for. The majority of the 5k is on the Kuller trail, an intermediate level trail. The trail does has some steep pitches, and climbs 500 feet. The course will begin and end directly behind the snow bowl lodge.

“YOU WON’T DIE, BUT IT’S A CHALLENGE YOU WON’T SOON FORGET.”    – 2015 PARTICIPANT

Children’s Course –If your child loves climbing, jumping and rolling like a Ninja, the children’s course is a must-do experience.

It takes place at the base behind the Snow Bowl lodge. Cost is a $5 donation for unlimited use of the course. It’s within view from inside the lodge.

Waved Start- The event will have a few waves beginning every 15 minutes. The first wave is at 10 a.m. and the last wave is at 1:30 p.m. When you select your heat time, you’ll receive a confirmation via email with your start time before race day. NOTE: Register early because heat times are on a first-come basis, and once a heat time is full, it’s closed.

Arrival- Please arrive 45 minutes before your Wave Start time to register, and get your bib and information. Music, food, children’s course, bounce house and beer will be available throughout the day.

Parking- Parking is available at the Snow Bowl Lodge, at the base of Ragged Mountain, as well as along the road leading to the Snow Bowl.

Camden Snow Bowl Terrain Park Competition

Camden Snow Bowl Terrain Park Competitions Begin Friday, January 23!

Camden Snow Bowl announces a new four-part Terrain Park competition to begin Friday, January 23, at 4 p.m. All ages, all disciplines, best trick, best wreck! If these words mean anything to you, then come compete!

Terrain Park manager, Steve Pixley, and designer, Tom Beauregard, have created a special terrain park at the foot of Windjammer especially for this first competition for both riders and skiers. There are eight elements in the first competition, including two brand new elements called “flat up flat box” and “rail.”

The competition includes a 20-minute jam session with 2 judges per discipline, including best trick and best wreck. Side Country Sports has provided gift certificate prizes for the winners. Entry fee, in keeping with the fun spirit of the competition, is only $5.00. With the current terrain park so close to the Snow Bowl lodge, this is a great time to come observe the competition, too. The four-part terrain park competition series takes place January 23, February 1, February 6, and February 13. For more information on the competition, visit www.camdensnowbowl.com.
