4th Annual Northern Outdoors 10k

 

Saturday, September 16, 2017, 8am 

Baxter Outdoors is returning this September for the 4th Annual Northern Outdors 10k Trail Run and the sixth stop on the Baxter Outdoors 2017 New England Trail Run Series. The 6-mile "point to point" race begins at the ballfield in The Forks and continues south along the FAST (Forks Area Scenic Trail) ending at the Northern Outdoors Lodge. Shuttle transportation to the start of this one-way course is being provided by Northern Outdoors. We encourage you to stick around apres at The Lodge to enjoy some Baxter Beer and Northern Outdoors' own Kennebec River Brewing Co. Beer.  

RACE ENTRY

Solo Entry: $30

Additional Friday/Saturday night camping: $40 per night per person

Youth 16 and under always race for $15

8am - Race registration opens

9:30am- Race registration closes

9:45am - Shuttle for race start departs from Northern Outdoors and is provided by Northern Outdoors. 

10:00am - Race start 

CAMPING 

Camping information is available on the race site: For $40 additional racers can purchase a camp site down by the river for 2 nights. All campsite spots include a spot for a tent, Friday night pasta dinner, and Friday night bonfire in our own private Baxter Outdoors section. Beverages are BYOB but we will be sure to bring plenty of our own to share. Plenty!

Meet in the King Pine Room to sign up in groups of two to three from 9am - 10am and then head out to find things on the list.

 

Prizes will be awarded to all who return by 10am with all items on the list and consolation prizes for all who are brave in the attempt!

Sugarloaf Summit Snowshoe Shuffle

Join us for our Sugarloaf Charity Summit kick-off event, Wednesday December 30, 2015 at 10:00am, at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. The Summit Snowshoe Shuffle is a fun snowshoe stroll through the Maine woods to benefit the Maine Cancer Foundation and the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. Enjoy a rolling, well groomed snowshoe course that you can enjoy individually or with a team!

Snowshoe in honor or in memory of a loved one touched by cancer.

Come join us as we shuffle approximately 1.5 or 3K through the beautiful Maine trails at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. Bring your friends and family.

Registration is just $25 which allows you to use the trails at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center for that day. Fundraising is encouraged, and is available through an easy online process combined with asking your friends and families to sponsor you.

Prizes are awarded for top fundraisers and best costumes. Group/Team packages, register 3 people and get the 4th person free. Family packages, Mom or Dad pay $25 each, and bring your children for free.

East Coast Pond Skimming

The East Coast Pond Skimming Championship is the most important sporting event to take place anywhere in the East.  Just kidding... but they are super entertaining, so grab your garb and get weird as you slide and splash across our frigid lake. Come fly across our newly designed pond skim venue on Saturday, April 19th at 1:00 pm!

2014 Annual Ski Marathon & Tour

 

The 6th Annual Ski Marathon & Tour is on Sunday, March 16th.
A point-to-point race and tour through the hills of Western Maine, the event will feature 3 distances, a 60K, 40K and 20K. Awards and prizes will be presented to the top three male and female participants for each of the three races! Food and refreshments will be provided at aid stations along the course of the event and a post-race lunch will be served to all participants at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center, where each race concludes. Non-competitive (touring) participants also have the option to stop in for lunch at Poplar Hut for some blueberry soup, homemade bread and baked goods and hot drinks.
Lodging packages are available to participants as well as shuttle services to the races. 
Spots are still available but space is limited so sign up today!
The deadline to register is March 14th at 5pm.
