Portland All-Star Boxing Show

Portland Boxing Club - All-Star Boxing ~ November 11, 2017 @ 7:30pm

Tickets start at $25~  Portland Boxing Club, 239 Park Avenue, Portland

All Star Boxing returns to the Portland Expo on November 11th with the Portland Boxing Club!

Portland Boxing Club’s nationally ranked welterweight Josniel Castro, of Portland, lost a one-point unanimous decision to Sean Charleston of Riverdale, GA in the Elite Male 152-pound division in the quarterfinal round of the 2017 USA Boxing National Eastern Elite Qualifiers in Chattanooga, TN in a hard-fought close contest that could have gone either way.

On Monday, Castro earned a 5-0 unanimous decision over Daijon Carter, of Las Vegas. The aggressive Castro was clearly the better and faster boxer, controlling the action for the entire fight. In the second round on Wednesday, Castro won by TKO over Joey Borrero of Las Vegas. After taking the first round to learn Borrero’s awkward style, Castro dominated the second round then scored two standing eight counts in the third round before the referee had seen enough and stopped the fight.

Castro will be competing again on November 11 at the All-Star Boxing show at the Portland Expo. Tickets start at $25 and are available at Bruno’s Restaurant, Merrill Auditorium and at www.PortTix.com.
