Jens Voigt to Participate in the Dempsey Challenge, October 1 – 2
LEWISTON, ME [August 25, 2016] – The Dempsey Center is proud to announce former professional cyclist, Jens Voigt, will participate in the 2016 Dempsey Challenge. This will be Voigt’s first year
riding in the Challenge as he takes on the 140+ mile, Two-Day Ride presented by L.L. Bean. The Two-Day Ride features great climbing, and stunning views through Maine’s countryside and coast.
Jens Voigt accomplished many feats during his 18-year professional career. Some of his professional highlights include winning the Criterium International five times, as well as two Tour de France stage victories. In 2014, Voigt broke the hour record, making him the oldest cyclist, and first German, to ever hold the record. Voigt is a fan favorite because of his exciting riding style, and articulate manner with the public and media.
It’s an honor that Voigt has chosen to participate in, and support, The Dempsey Challenge.
