  • Updated routes with an enhanced Stages Segment Challenge and an extra aid station on the Medio and Gran routes

  • New post-ride Elite Performance Team Recovery Zone with Normatec recovery boots

  • 5:30pm Free Pro Rider Bicycle Skills Clinic for riders of all abilities, presented by Bianchi and Elite Performance Team
  • 7pm Meet the Farmers Dinner at the Mallet Barn (tickets required)

SUNDAY AUGUST 27, 2017

  • 6:30 to 8:30am Packet Pickup, Maple Hill Creamery & Vagabond Coffee Fuel-Up Station, and L.L. Bean Bicycle First Aid Station open
  • 9am Farm to Fork Fondo (Piccolo, Medio and Gran) departs (pre-registration required)
  • 11am Ramble Ride departs
  • 11:30am to 6pm Post-Ride Farm to Fork Barbecue open (tickets required)
  • 1 to 5pm Live music by Half Moon Jug Band
  • 5pm Volunteer Competition Awards Ceremony
  • On-site activities include: barnyard and organic garden tours; history hay-wagon tours; farm stand; kayak and canoe rentals; nature trails; and ocean-front camping.

Trek Across Maine

Trek Across Maine ~ June 16 - 18, 2017

Sunday River is proud to be a long-time partner and supporter of the Trek Across Maine and the American Lung Association. 

Trek Across Maine is a three-day, 180-mile cycling event from the mountains of Sunday River to the sea in Belfast. As the largest event of its kind in the nation for the American Lung Association, the Trek has raised more than $22million in the past 30 years. Over 2,000 cyclists and 750 volunters take part in this one of a kind journey over Father's Day Weekend every year. 

As the official start of the Trek, Sunday River provides lodging at the resort, dinner on Thursday night, and breakfast Friday morning to fuel trekkers up for their ride.

With guided rides, free bike demos, skills clinics, great food, and even live music, it’s shaping up to be a seriously awesome weekend. There are still some fun volunteer opportunities available:

Tour de Lovell

The 11th Annual Tour de Lovell will start at 8am Saturday the 13th of August. BikeReg is open until the 5th of August, after that is paper registration. Day of registration and picking up race numbers will be at 7am to 7:30am on the 13th. The 21+ mile course is the same as last years. All volunteers will be entered in a raffle for a quart of local maple syrup. There is also a raffle for a day's use of a pontoon boat, courtesy of Kezar Lake Marina. The Tour de Lovell benefits the Lovell Recreation Department which is used by children and adults of Lovell, Stoneham, Sweden, Stow, and Chatham-New Hampshire.

7th Annual EMMC Champion the Cure Challenge


 EMMC Champion the Cure Challenge offers something for everyone! Choose from: a 1K, 5K or 10K walk/run, a 25, 50, 75 or 100 mile bike ride or a 38 mile motorcycle ride. You can even choose to be a virtual participant! People of all ages are invited to participate. In order to help reach our goal, participants are asked to meet minimum fundraising goals. And remember, every penny raised stays right here in our community to support local cancer research!

Gritty's Triple G3 Ride

The Gritty's Triple G3 is an annual bicycle ride event designated to raise money to support the Dempsey Center for Hope and Healing. Here is the OFFICIAL route map, it is http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3111292. The route is well marked and pretty simple.

This event is for experienced riders.  We ride from Gritty's in Freeport, to Gritty's in Portland, to Gritty's in Auburn, back to Gritty's in Freeport.  The stretch to and from Auburn is hilly.  We ask riders who can average over 15mph over 75 miles to participate.  This is not because slower riders are not welcome, it is because in August, it gets HOT. And we want riders back to Freeport between noon and 2pm so that they can enjoy the festivities and rehydrate. 

Registration starts at 6:30am at the Freeport Gritty’s parking lot, but don't park there. Park in the LLBean lot that is adjacent to Grittys
