10th Annual Healthy High 5k & 10k

The University Credit Union presents 10th Annual Healthy High 5k,10k & 1 Mile fun run on April 20, 2017.

Note:  The race time has changed to 5:00 PM

The 5k/10k run/walk will start at the New Balance Recreation Center on the University of Maine campus, and will continue on a course around campus ending back at the Rec center. The 5k/10k courses will be timed for 1.5 hours. Both the 5K course and the 10K course are certified by USATF

Prizes will be awarded for the top male and female runners in each of the divisions for both the 5/10k.
 
 
Registration

Early paper registration forms should be returned to the Student Wellness Resource Center by April 19 at Noon.

Volunteers

Volunteer opportunities are available throughout race day beginning at 10am and ending at 6:30pm. Volunteers are needed for registration and T-shirt distribution, bib assignments, on-course traffic control, directing runners on the course, and deconstruction.

Groups and student organizations interested in volunteering together should contact Mamie Clarke at (207) 581.1423 or mamie.clarke@maine.edu to register.

UMaine students can receive a discount by registering in person in room 235 in the Memorial Union and showing their MaineCard* or providing their MaineStreet ID number on-line. Students will need to show proof that they are a current UMaine student for discount pricing.

Color Me Rad 5K

July 15, 2017 ~ Simard-Payne Park, 46 Beech Street, Lewiston 

 

We’re the only 5K that will send you running through RAD color stations and leave you covered from head to toe in powders of pink, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Not only will you be having healthy amounts of fun, but you’ll be getting your daily exercise in the process. To top it off, we’re making it rain with free t-shirts, a RAD temporary tattoo, and a pair of RAD sunglasses for all regular participants. That’s right - FREE.

Calling all mermaids and seafarers to the 2nd Annual Sailors and Sirens 5K and Dolph-uns Fun Run to support the mission of The Downeast Divas - Cure Blood Cancer. This year is the Return of the Kraken! Founded in 2012, The Downeast Divas participate in endurance races to benefit cancer research, patient support and advocacy.

Wear your seaside gear as you run like the wind on this seaside course. You will be sure to encounter many a lovely mermaid and and even a pirate or two along the way.

Registration: $25 for the 5K. All ages welcome. $5 for the 1K for 10 year olds and under.

 

Both races begin and end at the Franciscan Monastery, Beach Avenue, Kennebunk  

This 5K (3 mile) costumed race will start and end on the grounds of the beautiful Franciscan Monastery, Kennebunk. Wind down Beach Avenue to the waterfront and run in the sand towards character photo stops. The 1K loops on the grounds of the Monastery and is geared towards children ages 10 years old and under.  

Participants are encouraged to dress like their favorite mermaid, sailor, pirate or sea creature. Care to dress as a Kraken? You will get a special prize!

 

The character stops along the way are for fun photo opps. Just imagine yourself in your fun running gear, pictured with a lively group of sirens!

The Hard Cider Run is exactly what its sounds like: a run featuring delicious hard cider! Each participant receives a soft-style T-shirt, finisher's medal, chip timing, a glass of hard cider and more!

Tucked away in East Bayside is one of Portland's most promising cider makers. UFF brews and ferments a variety of amazing drinks, including their renowned cider (or cidah!) Thomas College Dirty Dog Mud Run

Sunday, April 23rd - 5K with 12 obstacles! 

180 West River Road, Waterville 

This 5K features 12 obstacles (like mud, cargo nets, tire pulls, mud, mud and mud!) Also; wall climbs, bucket carries and hills.

Costumes encouraged!    

New this year: Racers have the ability to choose their preferred heat! Heats are limited to 30 people so register early to reserve the time that works best for you or your team!

An Elite heat will go off at 8:45 AM for our more competitive racers. All other participants will leave in heats of 30 or less every 10 minutes beginning at 9:00 AM. 

You do not need to participate in the Elite heat to be eligible for awards

Bring all your friends, alumni, faculty, staff and get down and dirty with us!
